Parachute training is fun and prepares you optimally for emergencies in everyday flying, where quick and experienced action is vital for survival – a benefit for pilots of all experience levels.

As we usually only fall back on automated procedures in stressful situations, we recommend that every pilot has thrown the reserve at least once. This will give you confidence in your abilities and your reserve under real conditions.

Further information on the automated processes theme

In extreme situations, people usually only resort to automated actions that do not require cognitive skills. A trained pilot has a much higher chance of reacting correctly in an emergency, as actions and procedures are firmly anchored. This explains why experienced pilots rarely appear in accident statistics.

Untrained pilots have the problem that theory alone can hardly be implemented in a dangerous situation, as the mind is not fully available in such moments. Instead, they act instinctively, which is often problem-oriented and not solution-oriented – the rescue parachute is deployed too late or not at all.

In Beckenried we offer ideal conditions for this: short distances between landing site, runway and launch site, a landing site located directly on the lake, protection from strong winds and a rescue boat that is always ready for action.

We start on the first day with a detailed equipment check, during which we regularly find and rectify faults such as incorrectly connected reserve parachutes and harnesses! We then teach you the basics of reserve parachute deployment and the correct behavior in the air. In addition, we will train you on reserve parachute designs and the correct choice of size. So that you can choose the perfect reserve parachute for you.

On the second day we meet at the landing site in Beckenried to discuss the box and the ideal height for throwing the reserve. We will explain the influence of wind drift and the reason for choosing the box.

Afterwards, you will take the cable car to Klewenalp. From there, you fly into the designated box, deploy the reserve and consolidate what you have learned in practice.
